Safety and standards
How we keep you safe
LUSSO Dental is registered with the General Dental Council through its clinicians and will be regulated by the Care Quality Commission on completion of registration. Decontamination follows HTM 01-05 best practice, sedation is monitored throughout, and every patient gives informed, written consent.
The parts of a clinic you never see are the parts we spent longest on.
Regulation
Every clinician at LUSSO is registered with the General Dental Council, which sets the standards for dental professionals in the UK. Dr Kalpesh Prajapat, GDC 264109, is the principal dentist. The practice is regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and the CQC provider ID will be published here on completion of registration before the clinic opens.
Decontamination and infection control
The clinic has a dedicated decontamination suite, separate from the surgeries, with a clear dirty to clean workflow, a washer disinfector, vacuum autoclaves and instrument tracking, designed to HTM 01-05 best practice. Single use items are used wherever they exist.
Sedation safety
Sedation is provided only by clinicians qualified in the technique, with continuous monitoring throughout by a trained team, full resuscitation equipment on site and a written recovery and discharge process. Your medical history is reviewed before any sedation is planned.
Radiation protection
Digital x rays and CBCT scans use the lowest dose consistent with a diagnostic image, are taken only when clinically justified, and are governed by IRR17 and IR(ME)R with an appointed Radiation Protection Adviser.
Consent and honesty
You receive a written plan that lists every item and fee, the alternatives, and the risks and benefits, and nothing starts until you have agreed it. Before and after photographs on this website are Dr Kal's own patients, shared with written consent. Results vary and no outcome is guaranteed.
Whitening and cosmetic regulation
Tooth whitening is a dental procedure and is carried out only by, or under the prescription of, a registered dental professional, to adults, after examination. We do not use language that promises results, and our fees are published.
If something goes wrong
We would always rather hear about a problem than have you tell somebody else. Our complaints procedure sets out how to raise a concern and how quickly we respond, and our privacy notice explains how your information, including CCTV in public areas, is handled.
