The Dental Wellness Assessment goes further than a standard check up. It begins outside the mouth, with the symmetry and profile of your face, the jaw joints and the muscles that move them, the salivary glands and the lymph nodes of the head and neck. Inside, it includes an oral cancer screen of the soft tissues, a full gum health assessment with pocket measurements around every tooth, a tooth wear index, a check of every filling, crown and restoration, and a record of the shade, shape and position of each tooth.
The 100 points are recorded, photographed and explained to you on screen, so you understand exactly where you stand and what, if anything, needs doing. The findings become your digital dental passport: a lifetime record that travels with you, is updated at each visit, and shows how your mouth changes over time. It is a prevention first approach, developed at LUSSO Dental, designed to catch small problems while they are still small.
Paired with the Advanced Digital 3D Scan, which analyses every tooth in real time and shows you the health of each tooth and your gums on screen, it gives Dr Kal the full picture before any treatment is planned.

Every consultation ends with a written plan that lists each item and its fee. Nothing starts until you have agreed it. Our membership plans spread the cost of everyday care.

Dental wellness assessment: your questions answered
How is this different from a normal check up?
A routine check up looks at teeth and gums in ten to fifteen minutes. The Dental Wellness Assessment takes around an hour, records 100 points including your face, jaw, salivary glands and an oral cancer screen, and gives you a written plan and a lifetime record.
What is the digital dental passport?
A permanent record of your assessment findings, photographs and scans that is updated at every visit. It shows how your mouth changes over time, and it belongs to you.
Does the assessment include x rays?
Any standard x rays needed on the day are included at no extra charge. Advanced imaging such as a CBCT scan is quoted separately if it is needed.
I have not been to a dentist for years. Is this for me?
Yes, and there is no judgement. Many of our patients have avoided dentistry for a long time. The assessment is the calm, complete restart, and sedation is available if treatment is needed afterwards.
