How it works
The building block of a full arch
All on 4 uses four to six implants, angled to make the most of the bone you have, to carry a complete arch of fixed teeth. Each implant works exactly like the single one shown here.
The bridge is screwed to the implants, so it stays in place day and night and is only removed by us for maintenance.
What it is
What All on 4 is, and who it changes life for
All on 4 is a way of supporting a whole arch of teeth on a small number of implants. Four to six implants are placed, the back ones angled to make use of the strongest bone and to avoid the sinus and nerve, and a fixed bridge of teeth is attached to them. Because the bridge is screwed to the implants rather than resting on the gum, it does not move, and you clean it in the mouth like natural teeth.
The alternative for people with no teeth has traditionally been a full denture. Dentures rest on the gum, so they loosen as bone shrinks, and many people avoid certain foods and social situations because of them. Fixed teeth on implants restore chewing, speech and confidence in a way a denture cannot.
Where teeth are failing rather than already lost, the extractions, implant placement and the temporary bridge can usually be completed in a single day, so you arrive with failing teeth and leave with fixed ones.

How it works at LUSSO, step by step

Assessment and imaging
A full examination, CBCT scan, digital scan and photographs. We talk through what you want your new teeth to look like as well as how they will function.

Digital design
Your new arch is designed on screen, with the implant positions planned against it. You see the proposed smile before surgery.
- 03
Surgery day
Any remaining teeth are removed, the implants are placed, and a fixed temporary bridge is fitted the same day. Local anaesthetic with sedation, and a companion to take you home.
- 04
Healing and review
The implants fuse with the bone over three to six months. We see you regularly and adjust the temporary as the gums settle.
- 05
Final bridge
Impressions are taken and your final bridge is made by our laboratory in stronger, more lifelike materials, then fitted and checked.

Ongoing care
Hygiene visits every three to four months and an annual check of the bridge and implants.

Is All on 4 really done in one day?
The surgery and the temporary fixed bridge are usually completed in one day, so you leave with teeth that do not come out. The final, more refined bridge is fitted once the implants have healed, typically three to six months later.
How much does All on 4 cost?
From £14,500 per arch at LUSSO Dental, which includes the implants, the same day temporary bridge and the final bridge. Extractions, sedation and any bone work are itemised on your plan.
Is it painful?
Surgery is carried out under local anaesthetic, usually with intravenous sedation, so you are comfortable and relaxed. Swelling and soreness for a few days afterwards are normal and are managed with painkillers and a soft diet.
What is the difference between All on 4 and an implant retained denture?
An implant retained denture clips onto two to four implants and is taken out to clean; it is more stable than an ordinary denture and costs less. All on 4 is fixed in place and cleaned in the mouth. We help you choose based on bone, budget and what you want day to day.
How do I clean fixed teeth?
You brush as normal and clean under the bridge with floss threaders, interdental brushes or a water flosser. We show you exactly how, and hygiene visits every three to four months keep the implants healthy.
Will I need a bone graft?
Usually not. Angling the back implants makes use of existing bone and avoids the sinus, which is why All on 4 suits people who have been told they lack bone. Your CBCT scan gives a definite answer.
